Boys Varsity Wrestling
Dear Sparta Wrestlers, Parents, Alumni, Fans, Family & Friends,
It’s been an honor and privilege to coach the Varsity Wrestling Program here at Sparta High School for the past decade. I’m thankful for being given the opportunity to continue and build upon the strong rich tradition of excellence for the program, the school and the athletic department.
After much consideration, I have decided to resign as the Head Coach of the program to allow more free time to invest and focus on the busy activity schedules of my six school age children (Rayana-11th, Justin 7th, Jayda 7th, Ryne 6th, Rece 6th and Zaccary 5th). It’s a good time for a coaching transition as the program currently has the leadership of 10 seniors and 22 returning starters to help continue the program in the right direction and support taking it to the next level.
I also look forward to my new role as an active, supportive Sparta Wrestling parent with a current and several future student-athletes in the program!
I’ve been blessed to coach, mentor and help positively shape the lives of so many amazing Sparta Student-Athletes over these past 10 years and I’m equally appreciative for all the leadership and support Sparta has provided. It’s an amazing place to coach! I’ve gained numerous lifelong friendships with student-athletes, fellow coaches, parents and the entire wrestling community throughout the State of Michigan over the years that I will cherish. Coaching at Sparta has been a lifelong highlight and I’m so thankful to join the likes of my predecessors Crompton, Gohn, Hembolt and Stamas. I wish my successor all the best and offer them my full support to continue the programs tradition of success and respect within the wrestling community.
