The Sparta boys basketball team tamed the Broncos 55-50 on the road Tuesday night. Leading scorers: Conner West 23, Jax Wilson 11, Chase Wilson 7. Sam Kerska contributed perimeter sharpshooting, while Samuel Whitmore and the "bash brothers," T.J. Devary, and Hayden Degraaf provided the toughness and grit inside at both ends. Degraaf, Jax Wilson, and West all converted key free throws down the stretch to seal the win. Sparta plays Catholic Central away Friday night at 7:30 p.m. preceded by the girls at 6:00.
