Wednesday evening, on a tough course in hot and humid conditions, your Lady Spartan Cross Country team upset the competition for a first place finish in the first OK Silver Conference meet!

Mia May led the race by 45 seconds, followed by Kennedi Wood, who beat her seed with a 7th place finish. Freshman phenom Emily Costello emerged as the third Spartan in 11th place overall with the only PR time for miles! Aubriana Druckenmiller continues to rise, with a top 20 finish, and juniors Erin Alster and Mackenzie Baldrica followed shortly thereafter. Rounding out the varsity seven was steady sophomore, Kate Kober. 

Although PRs were hard to come by in the difficult conditions, your Spartans ran with grit and determination, making coaches and fans proud. We return to the dirt Saturday morning at the athlete-favorite Hornet invitational in Central Montcalm, where runners compete by grade level.
