The Spartans cut a 17-point halftime deficit down to two with under two minutes to play before things unraveled once again, dropping the so-called "battle for the M-37 gas station," 78-71, at home Tuesday night.  Sparta was down 20-10 in the first and allowed the lead to grow to as many as 20 points in the second quarter. The Spartans showed grit in their comeback, but fell just short.  Conner West led all scorers with 30 points.  Chase Wilson and Sam Kerska added 11 apiece.  Samuel Whitmore led in rebounding and demonstrated a "can do" attitude.  Jax Wilson added 6.  The Blue Crew was on fire, despite the loss.
