In the Spartans last home game against Godwin Heights, Jax Wilson and Landen Reister accomplished something that Spartans will never forget. With 5 seconds left in regulation, Wolverines were at the line with the game at 76-77. Godwin Heights player hits the first but misses the second. Wilson gets the rebound and goes the length of the court, hitting Reister in stride and Reister knocks down the off-balance triple with no time left. The game goes to overtime with the score of 79-79. With 13.3 seconds left in overtime, the game was tied at 87-87. Godwin inbounds the ball and knocks down a step back jumper with 2.5 seconds left in overtime. Coach Berry calls a quick timeout and Spartans are down two. Busen inbounds the ball to Wilson and Wilson jumps out of the gym to grab the ball. Wilson takes two dribbles and heaves the ball up and banks the ball in as time expires. In his last home game ever, Jax Wilson seals the deal with a 39 point performance and a half court buzzer beater to win the game. This news quickly spread around West Michigan and made it on National News on ESPN Sportscenter. Wilson and Reister made an appearance on Sportscenter Top 10 plays at #6.
