The Sparta Baseball team secured its third consecutive District Championship on Saturday with victories over Cedar Springs and Grant. In the district semifinal, the Spartans defeated Cedar Springs 9-2 behind a dominant performance from Tyler Pangborn, who pitched six innings and recorded 7 strikeouts. Sparta's offense came alive to punch its ticket to the championship game. The district final against Grant was a classic pitching duel. Brenton Mojzak was outstanding on the mound, throwing a complete game while racking up 10 strikeouts. At the plate, Owen Burleson led the offense, going 2-for-3, while Ashton Bitely, Brenton Mojzak, and Brenden Rector each drove in a run. With a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Grant, the Spartans claimed their third straight district title and continue an incredible season.
